1. Who is responsible for your information

2. Information we collect

When you book or join an event, we collect your name, email address, age, gender selection, event choice, booking status and any contact details you choose to share after a mutual match. We also keep event participation details such as check-in status, pairings, match choices and feedback you submit.

If we need to check age or identity, we may ask for limited verification information. We will explain what is required at the time and use it only for verification, safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

If you contact support or make a safety report, we collect the information you provide about the concern. This may include names, event details, messages, dates, and supporting material. Please share only what is relevant and lawful to provide.

We receive payment status and payment reference information from Stripe. We do not store your full card number or card security code. We use essential browser storage to keep you signed in to your event on that device.

3. Why we use your information

We use your information to run your booking, take payment, send ticket and event emails, operate video events, make mutual matches, provide support, investigate safety reports, prevent fraud or misuse, enforce our rules, and improve Speedies. We may also use information where needed to meet legal obligations, protect someone from harm, or handle disputes.

We process information to provide the service you ask us for, for our legitimate interests in running a safe and reliable service, and where required, with your consent. You can withdraw consent for future marketing or optional uses at any time by emailing us.

4. Who we share information with

We use trusted service providers to run Speedies: Stripe for payments, Supabase for our database and live event updates, Daily for video rooms, Resend for emails, and Vercel for website hosting. They process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

We share your chosen contact details with another participant only after you both make a mutual match and agree to share them. We may preserve or disclose relevant information in response to a subpoena, court order, valid government request, or other lawful request, and where permitted to protect people and the service from harm, exploitation, or fraud.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards made available by those providers and applicable data-protection law.

6. How long we keep information

We keep booking and event information for as long as needed to run the event, provide support, deal with refunds or disputes, meet tax and legal obligations, and keep the service safe. Information connected with a safety report may be kept longer where reasonably needed to investigate, prevent repeat harm, preserve evidence, or comply with law. We then delete or anonymise information where practical.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, or a copy of information you provided to us. You can also object to certain processing and opt out of marketing at any time. Contact us using the details above and we will respond as required by law.

If you are in the United Kingdom and are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

8. Security and age

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No online system is completely secure, so please keep your event link private and contact us promptly if you believe it has been misused. Speedies is for people aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Speedies develops or our legal obligations change. We will publish the latest version here and update the date above.
